Outdoor Living & Garden Design Overview

This plan is designed to create a series of connected outdoor spaces that feel intentional, functional, and visually balanced with the home and surrounding landscape.

Patio & Hardscape Layout

The main gathering space is anchored by a rectangular bluestone dining patio located directly off the porch. This area provides a clean and structured space for outdoor dining, with a layout that aligns naturally with the architecture of the home.

Adjacent to the dining patio, the design preserves a large existing shade tree, which becomes a focal point of the backyard. Beneath the tree, a circular decomposed granite (DG) patio creates a more relaxed and organic seating area. This space is ideal for lounging and gathering around a fire feature, taking advantage of the canopy overhead for shade and ambiance.

To the side, a flagstone patio defines the cooking and grilling area. The irregular pattern of the flagstone contrasts nicely with the more formal bluestone, giving this zone a slightly more casual and functional feel while still tying into the overall design.

Steel edging and clean transitions between materials help define each space while maintaining a cohesive flow throughout the patio areas.
