Project Overview: Patio Replacement with Travertine

This patio project involves replacing an aging natural flagstone patio that was set over a failed concrete slab. The original surface had begun to slope toward the home, raising drainage concerns, and the joints were cracking and becoming uneven over time.

The new patio is being rebuilt from the ground up on a compacted gravel base for improved drainage and long-term stability. We’re using Ivory Select Travertine laid in a classic French pattern a natural stone known for its durability, ease of maintenance, and cooler surface temperature under full sun.

Travertine also allows for very tight joints, which greatly reduces the chance of weeds or grass growing between stones. The result is a clean, elegant, and practical surface that will perform well and look great for years to come.
